Trained as an experimental particle physicist, I approach photography as observation and interpretation both. I picked up my first camera at twelve, but it wasn't until I moved to the Southwest that the landscape changed how I saw. The scale, the light, the geology asked for a different kind of looking.

I work in both black and white and color. I let the subject decide which one it needs. In black and white, light, tone, and form carry everything. In color, hue and warmth become their own language. The desert doesn't just have a shape, it has a temperature.

New Mexico is home base, but discovery is part of the practice. I want someone to stand in front of a print and feel something about a place they'll probably never visit. Not recognition. Something closer to connection.
